    Amanda's Got Talent

     

    Amanda Holden has been confirmed as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical.
     

    Cutting It star and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will star in the West End musical adaptation of the popular Dreamworks film franchise Shrek. The show will open in May 2011 at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane with tickets going onsale to the public on the 1st October this year. The musical is directed by Robert Ashford with music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is produced by Caro Newley for Neal Street Productions and Bill Damaschke for DreamWorks Theatricals.

    Amanda will join comedian Richard Blackwood in the production who will play the role of Donkey. Blackwood had his own Channel 4 comedy series The Richard Blackwood Show and was recently onstage at the Novello Theatre in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof alongside James Earl Jones and The Cosby Show's Phylicia Rashad. Holden was nominated as Best Actress In A Musical for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie at The Shaftesbury Theatre in 2003.
