Casting announced for Arcola Theatre production of Mrs Dalloway, Clare Perkins set to star

Casting has just been announced for the new stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s novel, Mrs Dalloway, which is set to premiere at the Arcola Theatre on 25 September.

Starring in Mrs Dalloway is Clare Perkins (Emilia at the Shakespeare’s Globe) as the titular character, joined by Emmy D’Arcy (Against) as Rezia, Guy Rhys (The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui) as Septimus, Clare Lawrence Moody (The Divide) as Sally, and Sean Jackson (Antony and Cleopatra) as Peter.

It’s 1923 and London socialite Clarissa Dalloway decides to throw a party for her high-class friends. Meanwhile, World War I veteran Septimus Warren Smith comes begging for help from the very class that Clarissa entertains.

The play was adapted from the Virginia Woolf novel of the same name by Hal Coase (Callisto, a queer epic at the Arcola Theatre). It features direction by Thomas Bailey (The Games We Played), sound by Tom Stafford, design by D’Arcy and lighting by Joe Price.
