    DANIELLE HOPE AND MICHAEL CRAWFORD LEAVE WIZARD OF OZ ON 5 FEBRUARY

    Danielle Hope, the winner of Andrew Lloyd Webber's show Over the Rainbow will make her final appearance as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz currently playing at the London Palladium Theatre since 1st March 2011.  It is booking until 28th October 2012.  Michael Crawford will also take his last bow on 5th February as the Wizard.

    Taking over the role of Dorothy is Sophie Evans (pictured), who was the runner up in the tv competition show.  She has already been performing reguarly on Tuesday evenings and during Hope's holidays.  She starts full time on 7th February.

    It hasn't been confirmed who will be replacing Michael Crawford as the Wizard.

    The Wizard of Oz is currently nominated in four categories at this year's Whatsonstage.com Awards, including Best Musical Revival and Best Set Designer. Hannah Waddingham, who originated the role of the Wicked Witch of the West at the Palladium is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical whilst Danielle Hope is nominated in the London Newcomer of the Year category.
