DES O'CONNOR MAKES WEST END DEBUT

The cast of Dreamboats and Petticoats on at the Playhouse Theatre will be joined by the legendary Des O'Connor from 3rd October to 7th January making his West End debut.

The beloved entertainer and crooner has made over a 1000 appearances in the West End when he hosted Sunday Night At The London Palladium but this will be his first theatre role.  He will be taking on the role previously played by Tony Cristie as the Older Bobby and Phil, Bobby's dad who runs the youth club around which the production set in the 60's is based.

In a career that spans over 45 years, the entertainer hasn't let his age stop him from keeping busy.  Now aged 79, he has most recently been seen on TV in Des O’Connor Tonight specials, host of Countdown, the award-winning ITV talk show Today with Des and Mel and his interview this year on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

Des O' Connor is also a successful music and recording artist, having produced 36 albums which have sold over 16 million copies to date.
