Lindsay Lohan To Star in Speed-The-Plow At Playhouse Theatre

Young Hollywood will hit the West End stage this year with Lindsay Lohan making her first professional stage debut in a production of David Mamet's play Speed-The-Plow at the Playhouse Theatre.

Directed by Lindsay Posner the show will run for a limited season and will open on 2nd October 2014 until 29th November. Lohan, who recently has become perhaps more known for her off screen exploits, told the New York Times recently: "It's the first time I've done a stage play or anything like that. I'm nervous but I'm excited."

Lohan has a proven track record having starred in movies such as Freaky Friday and Mean Girls as a young star and more recently she portrayed Elizabeth Taylor on the small screen in Liz & Dick. The actress will play a sexy temp who seduces an ambitious Hollywood producer and persuades him to film a novel about a nuclear catastrophe and the end of the world rather than the star-laden, sure-fire hit brought to him by his grovelling sidekick.

The original Broadway production of Speed-the-Plow starred Madonna while the British premiere was mounted by the National in 1989.

Further casting and information on Speed-the-Plow tickets still to be announced, check back for regular updates and tickets for what is sure to be one of the most talked about plays of this year!
