Seth Numrich joins Cattrall in Sweet Bird of Youth.

It has been confirmed that highly rated Broadway star Seth Numrich will be joining the fabulous Kim Cattrall in Sweet Bird of Youth this summer at The Old Vic.

Seth, who has previously appeared in the Broadway production of War Horse, will get a starring role as Chance Wayne in Tennessee Williams’ powerful and poetic play.

Sweet Bird of Youth follows fading Hollywood legend Alexandra (Kim Cattrall) as she runs from the dire premiere of her comeback film. Whilst travelling anonymously, she finds escape in drink, drugs and Chance Wayne (Seth Numrich), a starry-eyed youngster determined to achieve his own Hollywood ambitions. A trip to Chance’s hometown in a bid to win back his high school sweetheart sees their relationship of convenience fall apart in Williams’s vivid and macabre portrayal of the downfall of dreams.

Brid Brennan and Owen Roe also join the cast as Aunt Nonnie and Boss Finley respectively. Sweet Bird of Youth will open at The Old Vic on 12 June 2013, with previews from 1 June.
