SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS TO OPEN AT THE VAUDEVILLE

The critically acclaimed Bristol Old Vic production of Swallows And Amazons is to open at London’s Vaudeville Theatre.

Swallows and Amazons will perform at the Vaudeville Theatre from 15 December to 14 January 2012. It is based on the classic children's novel by Arthur Ransome. The music for the show will be provided by Neil Hannon who is widely known for his part in the Irish band The Divine Comedy. The production will be aimed at an audience of ages six and older.

Swallows and Amazons follows the holiday events of the Walker and Blackett children.  Watch as Captain John and his crew set sail to Wildcat Island on an exciting adventure to encounter savages, capture pirates and defeat mortal enemies.

The show was developed at the National Theatre Studio and is presented by the National Theatre and the Children's Touring Partnership.

Currently showing at the Vaudeville Theatre is the energetic The Flying Karamazov Brothers and another children's classic The Tiger Who Came To Tea. These two will then be followed by a short run of Arthur Miller's Broken Glass and Swallows and Amazons will end the year.
